மத்திய பிரதேச மாநிலத்தில் பிளஸ் 2 தேர்வில் 91.8 சதவீத மதிப்பெண்கள் எடுத்து முதலிடம் பிடித்த மாணவி, ஒருநாள் கவுரவ மேயர் பதவி அளித்து கவுரவிக்கப்பட உள்ளார்.
ஷங்கர் இயக்கத்தில் அர்ஜூன் நாயகனாக நடித்த ‘முதல்வன்’ படத்தில் வரும் ஒருநாள் முதல்வர் பதவி போல், ஒருநாள் மேயர் பதவி வகிக்கப் போகும் அந்த மாணவி பெயர் சுனந்தா கயர்வர்.
மத்தியப்பிரதேச மாநிலம் உக்ஜைன் மாவட்டம் நக்தா என்ற நகரைச் சேர்ந்தவர். 17 வயதான சுனந்தா, இங்குள்ள பள்ளிக்கூடத்தில் பிளஸ் 2 படித்து தேர்வு எழுதியிருந்தார்.
இந்நிலையில், பிளஸ் 2 தேர்வில் அவர் 91.8 சதவீத மதிப்பெண்கள் எடுத்து நக்தா நகரில் முதல் மாணவியாக தேர்ச்சி பெற்றுள்ளார்.
இதையடுத்து மாணவியை கவுரவிக்கவும், மாணவ, மாணவிகளை கல்வியின் மேல் ஆர்வம் கொள்ளச் செய்யும் வகையில் அவருக்கு ஒரு நாள் மேயர் பதவி வழங்க முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாக நகரின் மேயர் ஷோபா யாதவ் அறிவித்துள்ளார்.
வருகிற 28 ஆம் தேதியன்று மாணவி சுனந்தா மேயர் பொறுப்பு ஏற்கிறார். அன்று காலை முதல் மாலை வரை மேயர் இருக்கையில் அமர்ந்து மேயர் பணிகளை கவனிப்பார்.
இதற்கான சட்ட நடைமுறைகளை செய்து, அரசிடம் முறைப்படி அனுமதி பெற்றுள்ளார் மேயர் ஷோபா யாதவ்.
28 ஆம் தேதியன்று மேயர் பதவியில் அமரும் மாணவி சுனந்தா, அன்றைய தினம் நகரில் பொதுமக்கள் பயன்பாட்டுக்காக ரூ.40 லட்சம் செலவில் சாலை அமைக்கும் திட்டத்தில் கையெழுத்திடுகிறார்.
சுனந்தாவின் தந்தை தொழிற்சாலையில் பணிபுரிகிறார். தாய் அங்கன்வாடி ஊழியர். சுனந்தாவின் உடன் பிறந்தோர் மொத்தம் 4 பேர். தான் என்ஜினீயராகி குடும்பத்தை காப்பாற்ற வேண்டும் என்பதே தமது லட்சிய என்று சுனந்தா தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Nagda in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district has decided to honour its most industrious student, Sunanda Khairwar, in a unique way. Sunanda,17, will become mayor of this industrial town for one day for having scored 91.8 per cent marks in her class XII exams

All those who thought ‘aisa to bas filmon me hota hai’ after
watching Anil Kapoor starrer Nayak in which he played a journalist who was given
a chance to be the CM of a state for one day, would see that films can inspire
real life.
The topper of the district Sunanda Khairwar, who secured 91.8 per cent
in 12th board exam, would be rewarded by the city by giving her a chance to be
the mayor of Nagda for a day on May 28.
Mayor Shobha Yadav would transfer her power to Sunanda on May 28 in a
function. During the course of her one-day tenure, she would not have powers to
pass bills or sign on checks. She would also inaugurate 40 municipality aided
programmes.
Sunanda’s father is a labourer whereas her mother is a peon in a government
school. Mayor Shobha Yadav said that she took the decision to promote education
amongst children.
